When you spend more at PETRONAS using Setel, you will level up and enjoy the chance of earning more bonus Mesra points. You have a chance to collect up to 7x points when you reach Level 10 based on the amount of points you’ve collected.
The more you spend, the more you level up. Once you reach level 10, you’ll stand a chance to collect up to 7x Mesra points.
Bonus
You will get bonus points for using your Mesra card on the Setel app. There will be many levels within the Mesra Card programme in which there will be different bonus points payout within each level for each transaction. In addition, the bonus points awarded per transaction is different at each level as well.
Levels
Levels are unlocked based on how much spend/how many points you collected for the month. Meanwhile, the next level will be unlocked immediately when you hit the minimum spend/total points collection criteria for the next level without waiting for the next month. If your total monthly spend/points collection do not meet the minimum spend/total points collection criteria for the particular level, you will be downgraded by 1 level in the following month.
Example:
Jan : I earned 20 points and I am at level 2
Feb: I earned 0 point and I am at level 1 in March
Mar: I earned 100 points and I will immediately unlock level 5
Apr: I earned 0 points and I will be downgraded level 4 (1 level lower than previous)
You will get more rewards when you link your Mesra Card with Setel, and pay for fuel using Setel.
If you link your Mesra Card with Setel and pay using the app, you will get:
1x +Bonus points for every litre of petrol or diesel purchased
1x point for every RM1 spent at the Kedai Mesra
If you did not link your Mesra Card with Setel or you did not pay using the app (i.e pay with cash, credit / debit card, PETRONAS gift card, etc.), you will get:
1x point for every litre of petrol or diesel purchase
1x point for every RM1 spent at the Kedai Mesra
If you’re at a Non-Setel enabled PETRONAS station and you’ve link your Mesra Card with Setel, swipe your Mesra Card at the payment terminal to get:
1x +Bonus points for every litre of petrol or diesel purchased
1x point for every RM1 spent at the Kedai Mesra
You collect 1x point for every RM1 spent at the Kedai Mesra. You need to scan and submit the receipt via Setel within 7 days of the transaction date. The points will be reflected in Setel next day.
If you are at a Non-Setel enabled PETRONAS station, you can pay for fuel with other modes of payment (cash or credit / debit card), swipe your physical Mesra Card OR scan and submit your receipt via Setel within 7 days of the transaction to collect 1x + bonus points. The points will be reflected on Setel the next day.
Through this new Digital Mesra program via Setel, there is also an opportunity to collect more points. This is a new experience for members, where you now can unlock higher levels as you spend more and you can collect more bonus through other activities on the Setel app! For your information, you can earn, check & redeem points straight from the app without swiping your Mesra Card. All you need to do is to link your Mesra Card, pay fuel with Setel and that’s the most convenient way to go!
Setel is safe to be used at the petrol station before and after refuelling, with compliance to the station safety guidelines provided. If you’re using Setel to pay for fuel at the station, you may refer to the station safety guidelines that can be found in the app right before your purchase:
Car drivers:
1. Park at a Setel enabled fuel pump.
2. Launch Setel.
3. Select pump number and fuel amount.
4. Once pump is ready, turn off your car engine, put your phone away and step out to refuel.
! Do not use your phone or re-enter your car while refuelling.
Motorcycle riders:
1. Park at a Setel enabled fuel pump and turn off your engine.
2. Launch Setel.
3. Select pump number and fuel amount while seated on your motorcycle.
4. Once pump is ready, put your phone away and step down to refuel.
! Do not use your phone while refuelling.
It’s only 3 simple steps and you can enjoy more rewards.
1. Download the Setel app at Google or Apple store in your mobile phone.

There are no fixed number of levels. Just continue using Setel to discover. You will be informed of your current level within the Setel app, and also be notified on how to unlock the next level via the app. The more you spend, the higher your level, the more bonus points will you get.

Everyone starts on Level 1 when you link your Kad Mesra on Setel app, regardless of your current points balance. Your level will be determined based on how much you spend or how many points collected. You will be immediately upgraded to the next level if you hit the minimum spend/bonus points collection criteria for that level. The following month, your level will be determined based on the amount you spent/total points collected in the previous month. The more you spend, the faster you can unlock the next level, the more bonus you will receive! In addition, you will also get bonus points from other activities via Setel. Stay tuned!

To maintain your current level, you will need to make spend the same amount/collect enough points per requirement of your current level.

You can increase and unlock levels quickly when you spend more at PETRONAS. Your level will be determined by the total spend/total points collected. The next level will be unlocked immediately when you hit the minimum spend/total points collection criteria for the next level. To maintain your level and not be downgraded, you will need to actively spend to meet the minimum spend/points collection criteria for your current level every month. You may check which level you are currently at via Setel app and you will also be prompted on how much more to spend to unlock the next level via the app.
Bonus points given out are based on each transaction made. Even if you are in the same level between each transaction, you may get different bonus points. The more you spend, the faster you unlock the next level and get more bonus points.
If you did not spend for that month, your level will drop by 1 level. Hence, to maintain at current level, continue spending to meet theminimum spend/points collection requirement for your current level. Keep spending and don’t worry, the Setel app willl prompt you on how to maintain your current level or unlock the next level.
Everyone will start from level 1 when you start using Setel, regardless of your points balance.
At the moment, you will be awarded bonus points for every transaction you make when your Kad Mesra is linked with Setel regardless of the day. Stay tuned if there are more ways to earn Bonus points!
You will not collect bonus points for non-fuel items purchased at the Kedai Mesra. However, the purchases you make/ points you collect from such transactions will be considered to determine your level.
Yes, bonus points is rewarded based on your level for all fuel purchases (Petrol and Diesel).

Bonus points are surprise points given out based on each transaction. While at times you may get lower bonus points, there will also be opportunities to get even more points! Typically, you’ll be able to collect more bonus points as you progress to higher levels.
If you pay with cash or card credit/debit/gift card and do not swipe your physical Mesra card. All you need to do to collect 1x + bonus points is to scan and upload your reciept via Setel within 7 days after the transaction date.
If you have linked your Mesra Card to Setel, you will automaticaly get 1x + bonus points based on your fuel purchase at the Setel enable station. You do not need to swipe your physical Mesra card.
If you have swiped your Mesra Card at a Setel enabled station, you only get the normal points. If you have made the transaction at a NON-Setel enabled station and swiped your Mesra Card, do reach out Setel Customer Service for further assistance via Live Chat by clicking on Chat with us now or email to hello@setel.my.
For stations that are non-Setel enabled, all you need to do is link your Kad Mesra on the Setel app and you can continue to swipe your Kad Mesra when you fill up or purchase at the station. Your transaction will be recorded and bonus points will be awarded accordingly as if you’re purchasing at Setel-enabled stations.
You have 7 days to retrieve the receipt from the station and submit it via the Setel app. If you are unable to do so, please contact Setel customer service for further assistance.
1. If you are at Setel enable station and have linked your Mesra card to your Setel account, you don’t need to swipe your Mesra Card when you pay for fuel with Setel. Your transaction will automatically be captured in your Setel account. You can conveniently earn and redeem Mesra points for fuel in the app without the card.
2. If you are at non-Setel enabled station, you’ll get to collect 1x + bonus points when your Mesra card is linked to Setel, but remember to swipe your Mesra card at the non-Setel station to collect 1x + bonus points.
No, only one (1) Kad Mesra number can only be linked into one Setel account.
There will be no change to your existing points balance.
